Welcome to The Royal British Legion Scotland...
WHAT IS THE LEGION
The Royal British Legion Scotland consists of about 200 branches. Most members have served in HM Armed Forces but others are family or Associate members who share the Legions ideals.
Our aims are:
“To act as the leading ex-service Charity in Scotland, promoting remembrance and comradeship and, in partnership with other Scottish Charities, to be responsible for providing welfare,
benevolence
and
War-Pensions:
War Pension Appeals Support.”
These are achieved by social events and ceremonial occasions. The former can include fundraising events such as barbeques, coach outings, dinner dances and coffee mornings, which can be fun as well as raising much needed funds for ex-service charities.
Ceremonies such as wreath-laying on Remembrance Sunday or organising events to mark Veterans' Day and military anniversaries remind the public as to the debt of honour we owe the Fallen. School visits, best kept war memorial competitions and other public events help teach the public the whole story.
If there is a group organising a gravestone for a forgotten Victoria Cross holder or arranging parcels for troops on active service, you can be sure it will involve the Legion.
